About the webinar

Every parent and carer, at some time, will wonder if they are doing a good job at being a parent and role model. Every parent and carer wants a ‘plan’ to help them stay on track and know what to do if they get off track.

In this presentation, senior clinical psychologist, Heather Irvine-Rundle will help you to understand the 6 essential steps – the 6C’s to getting the right formula for your family. This learning will assist parents and carers to build confidence in the following:

  • self regulation
  • resilience building
  • helping your children to utilise effective coping and self-regulation strategies (including tantrums)
  • skills and strategies to help manage your children’s feelings, from worries to anger
  • how to develop boundaries and consequences for difficult behaviours
  • increasing communication skills with your children
  • enjoying parenting more, connecting with your children and reducing stress for the whole family.

Who is it suitable for?

The webinar is suitable for all parents, carers, grandparents, extended family members and anyone who has a close relationship with children aged between 3 to 11 years.  Everyone is welcome to participate in this webinar.

About the speaker

Heather Irvine-Rundle, clinical psychologist and director of The READ Clinic

Heather is a senior clinical psychologist and the director of The Read Clinic, which is one of the largest psychology practises in Australia. As well as practising in Australia, Heather has also spent three years in the UK working with some of the most deprived families in Liverpool and London. She also led a service providing advice and consultations on mental health to all the schools in the South London area.

As well as practicing for over two decades, Heather has also found time to become a published author with her latest book Hello Baby. Heather speaks regularly on local ABC radio, has appeared on a number of television shows including 60 Minutes, and writes regular articles for print and digital media.

In 2019, Heather was appointed as Conjoint Professor of Practice in the School of Psychology at the University of Newcastle.
