Vicarious trauma webinar: How teachers and educators can recognise, support and work towards preventing vicarious trauma within their organisation.
Working with children and young people who have trauma histories can be particularly challenging due to the high level of behavioural, emotional and psychological dysregulation and resultant complications.
Teachers, educators and support teams can have all the best of intentions. However, often their dedication can lead to the development of vicarious trauma and burnout when exposed to the different challenges faced by children and young people that they engage with on a daily basis.
This webinar will focus on how teachers and educators can recognise and prevent burnout, stay healthy by acknowledging the importance of self-care and establishing a supportive environment that recognises vicarious trauma.
During this webinar, we will assist you with:
- Recognising the warning signs of vicarious trauma: physical, behavioural, emotional and psychological.
- Identifying individual risk and resiliency factors.
- Learning about wellness and self-care practice plans for yourself and your team.
- Increasing team resilience and optimism.
- Creating strategies and communication that will contribute towards building a successful support network within your entire organisation.
